laoo
Hi! To develop for Lynx I've written many tools on my own. I've published a year and a half ago my utility to encrypt simple code to lynx cartridge images. Few weeks ago I saw on discord a query whether @42bs's sprpck can't be extended to support PNG files. Then I recalled that in my all-in-one tool there is a feature to compress PNG images to lynx sprites, so why not publish it? Hence to distract myself from current duties I've decided to spent some time to extract the code to a standalone utility. In that way the Suzy Sprite Packer came to an existence. Everything should be self-explanatory by reading readme. I haven't benchmarked it extensively whether it behaves reasonably, but few years ago had place a curious "challenge" which packer packs best and my algorithms wasn't bad. It might be slow though due to some features wrt palettes. Nevertheless everyone can give it a try and may give me a feedback. https://github.com/laoo/SSP Edited November 6, 2023 by laoo 8
