I used to love Space Wars arcade. Back in the day...

Hellz Yeah!

I remember in the 70's going to a casino, the MGM Grand in Vegas as a kid,...and before they (and everyone) had arcades in the 80's,  they just had ONE GAME,  Space Wars!  I played it a while...

Then (in 1980) at band camp, (This one time at band camp,  heh),  I missed Camp Choir,  because I was in the basement of the Student Union playing Space Wars!

And then once I got an Atari,  I had COMBAT...Then later got my second ever game for it,  SPACE WAR!

Wow... Pete Rose Baseball is actually a decent Atari Baseball game! Though the crowed always cheering is a little irritating at first.. it kinda fades away in your mind after while. I guess I'm just impressed when you compare to Real Sports Baseball or Home Run.

For the 2600:

Pete Rose Baseball = 16k

RealSports Baseball = 8k

Home Run = 2k

Size DOES matter here. ;)

For the 7800:

Pete Rose Baseball = 32k

RealSports Baseball = 64k

Size DOES NOT matter here.

Although 7800 RealSports Baseball is twice the size of 7800 Pete Rose Baseball, there is no competition between the quality of game produced.

It demonstrates that what programmers had to work with mattered, as well as how good and efficient the programmers were at the task at hand.

The 2600 developers, for the aforementioned titles, did a great job working with what resources were made available to them.

The 7800 developers, at least for RealSports Baseball, not so much.

My favorite baseball game for the 2600 is M-Network Super Challenge Baseball. It’s a 2 player game only but if you have an opponent to play against it has awesome game play! Controls are smooth and gameplay is lots of fun!

Put me in Coach! I’m ready to play today!

Finally got Crackpots which looks much better than the PAL hacks.

The label looks great but the contacts needed more than alcohol to clean. There was not much dirt but it failed to work.

It runs now on my 2600+ but still has issues on my NTSC Jr😊

My father bought me one of these since nobody wanted to use the tiny controller we had for player 2. I liked the big red bat so I wasn't into this stick at the time. I learned to love it more and more. I still have and use the 500 and it's just such a great controller.  I love the feel of the microswitch click and solid long lasting construction! Now that my father has passed, the stick is even more important now then ever before. You made a great buy with this. 👍

I had to try this controller with Grand Prix since I saw it in your console! I always liked playing some Grand Prix! Now it’s like I’m driving a Ferrari! 🏎️

Now I have to try it with H.E.R.O., Q-Bert and Berzerk!

The problem is I'm a lonely old man and curmudgeon, so the odds of me having anyone in my house, let alone anyone willing to play atari games from 83 and earlier, is low.

Yeah, It's true a bot the amount of programing space...But I was speaking more on the the differences time made. It's impressive what they pulled off on the 2600 late the game. Much like the homebrew scenes impressive outputs. No disrespect at all to the other 2 games... well maybe some disrespect to RS baseball since it had such a great layout but the gameplay just lacked something. HR was a fun game!

Now RS football... I love that game!

I understand. I was just adding my 2 cents on Baseball games. It was a favorite of mine. Maybe when they get multiplayer working on the 2600+ we could play an online game! 😆

That's brand new for me. I know I saw it when I was young, but never had it in my collection. I must have seen it played at a cousins house. GP is so much fun. My daughter even grabbed the controller from me after my first go... That never happens lol.

I wish I had H.E.R.O... I've played it in emulation and it's just such a great game! I'm envious. I pre-ordered A.R.T.I though, so that should scratch the itch and more. You'll enjoy Q-Bert far more with that controller without a doubt!

That’s the great thing about the Atari 2600+. I myself pick up a game here and there that I never had. And I enjoy playing today!

Agreed! Something special about giving those old carts a good home. Just not the same feeling for me just d/l roms.

H.E.R.O is really one of the best games on the 2600. I searched for a long time until I found one at a reasonable price. Until recently, I couldn't find anything for under 60 euros. I was lucky to get one for 50 and to my delight, the eBay seller also threw in a Jr. Pac Man for free. I was really pleased. Currently, the prices (here in Germany) seem to be at a reasonable level. Hero should be available for under 50 euros. Most of my games cost between 5 and 15 euros but Hero is worth every cent, as is Pitfall 2 😊

Got another two NTSC versions of my carts 🤗

Pitfall! was sold with an NTSC warning from a German Ebayer and any PAL version would have been more expensive (have one already from the past).

26€ was Ok for this game, it you look at the nice label😊

If I compare them with my PAL games, I like Pitfall NTSC much more as Harry runs 20% faster. Colors are very similar.

Demon Attack plays also much better with additional speed but I like the PAL colors more🤔

I joined the Squeeze Box club!  Pretty cool game. Back in the day, I've only ever played Towering Inferno and Commando Raid by US Games, which I bought during the crash for dirt cheap.

This game I picked up later in years. It’s different, I never heard of it when I found it at a local game store. But I thought it was a pretty cool game when I tried it for the first time. It’s not easy either!

It's an odd game but there's nothing wrong with that.  I have it.  When I played it the second time, I did better.

Welcome to the club.  Lol.  It's an unusual game.  I like it.  You gotta love his green shoes and purple gun.  He definitely has style.

It’s Harry Holigan! He broke out of Keystone Kapers!
