SpendTooMuchOnAtari
Hi! I think I am on the easiest novice setting so that is why I am still playing but this game rocks and am just wondering what your high score is on novice. I have been playing now for awhile and have it on Pause. I am on Level 56 with 488590 points and 4 ships in reserve. I had to give my hand a little break. Really fun game and a good conversion from the coin-op in my opinion.
SpendTooMuchOnAtari
Forget this project on Novice. I am on level 4 now which is actually 104 and I'm tired. 913090 is the score. I guess I will go to a cool million to see what happens. Probably just one more 1. Expert is next. Yep.....I'm done and it didn't roll over at a million, the screen has enough room for that but not for levels over 100. Time for me to get to work on eBay a little bit and maybe clean up the hell-hole the kids made for me.
Classic Pac
You two should go at it in 2 player mode

I haven't played the 7800 version in a very long time, but I topped 2 million in the arcade from the 2 player spot without using the cheats on more than a few occasions
SpendTooMuchOnAtari
What's the cheats?
sku_u
What's the cheats? There is a way to get the ships to never fire a single shot after the first round: Leave the two bees on the bottom left corner until they are the last two ships on the screen. Let them keep diving at you until they no longer drop any bombs. Then kill them. The ships will never fire another shot for the remainder of the game. This takes about 10 minutes to do and can also be duplicated on the PS2 Namco Museum emulated version.
sku_u
I don't think that this cheat works on the newer Galaga cabinets and takes the fun out of the game. You can also shoot two ships exactly as they cross each other then never fire a single shot and intentionally die, leaving you with a final percentage of 200%. MegaData
Didn't know about the cheat, but I'm not much for cheating. The game rolls over to zeros around 9999990 or 9999980, depending on what you shoot. The levels repeat after you make it to 99, if I remember right. Apparently my high-score has been beaten on Twin Galaxies, but they don't know that my score was after I had already passed the roll-over the first time. Technically, no one's beaten my score yet. ; )
Ferris
I don't remember my actual high score, I will have to look it up. It's from sometime in 1997. The story tho is that I was in the week approaching my final exam week for like 10th grade or whatever, and had gotten stressed out from all the studying and my brain was fried. The only thing that's really any good at un-frying my brain is a good game of Asteroids or Galaga or some kind of classic Atari shooter where concentration is key and there is no ending to beat the game. I started on the third skill level (the highest one) and started playing. I played for like two hours and for some reason, all that studying had put me in this transe where I was like that kid from D.A.R.Y.L. and I could just handle anything the game threw at me. After a while I had to stop to study again. Instead of turning off the console, I just put it on pause and turned off the tv. This routine continued for the rest of the study week and the rest of the exam week its self. About 2 or 3 hours a day of Galaga. It relieved my stress and I kept working on a high score. I kept that game going until school got out and I had to go to Florida for 3 months during the summer. For those 3 months the 7800 sat on pause waiting for my return. When I got home 3 months later, my game was still sitting there and I picked it back up and played for an entire weekend straight. I finally lost my last ship some three days later. In the end, I think I kept that game going longer than most reasonable people would have. I'm also pretty sure I rolled the score about three times but don't quote me n that just yet, lol. Either way, that's the Atari story that sticks out in my head whenever someone asks me about a high score.

DeV0
My highest on the 7800 is undetermined. I finish when i get tired on any difficulty. I am a big fan of the 7800 port, Its a bit different and I think thats what makes it unique.
