Hello,

We are proud to announce the availability of our latest project for Atari STE, NANO CAVE.

It came second in the ST Game Compo at Silly Venture 2023 WE.

A Rogue game through the history of computing, taking you through the levels as you would have done on a ZX81, C64, PC CGA, AMSTRAD, MACINTOSH, GAMEBOY... and of course ATARI ST!

Well...... Merry Christmas to .... US it seems!  Thanks for the present.  I'll be sure to leave a little something in your stocking when I get home from Christmas dinner.

I know what I'm doing tonight!

Though probably should ask... does it run on the Falcon?  (I mean, I have a Mega STE too, but it's not currently set up).

I don't have a Falcon and I haven't checked from an emulator...
But if you can do the test, I'd be interested to know!

I use a Mega STE to code 😉

Will do.

Love the Mega STE myself, but mine both seem to have a few issues.  Used to run my BBS off it (though now have to switch to the Mega ST due to some quirks I have to fix).

But I'll be sure to let you know.

Amazing game!  Love the speed of it.  I fire up the old original Rogue every now and again, and probably won't do so anymore.

Only small notes.

Instant exit of game by pressing escape, with no resume... Has bitten me in the butt a couple times already.

If your inventory is full, might be nice to pop up a message when trying to grab something you can't fit.  Minor thing, but, one of the levels it wasn't clear to me originally why I couldn't pass into a new room (the only room available).  One of the retro maps made it kinda hard to tell, and, I thought it was a bug at first.

My first run, not sure if this is a bug, or what could have triggered it, but, around level 8, I'd just instantly drop down one level to another having barely explored a room.   Descended several levels this way, and, thought I'd read the instructions from the main menu (which I hadn't read yet).  Pressed escape and... d'oh!

Absolutely loving it.  I hope it reaches a 1.0 release at some point and gets a physical release.
