Celotine
Ok RAM issue is fixed with the lundy mod. I still have an RF issue and no working controllers. I own 3 none seem to work. Is there a good RF solution? Is there something I need to check on the motherboard for the controllers? They're not known working controllers so they might all be bad. nick3092
For the best possible RF, do not use a switch box, especially the newer automatic switch boxes made for NES and newer consoles. Instead, get a type F to RCA adapter and connect it directly to the TV's antenna port, and connect the RF cable from the Coleco to the adapter. Something like this: https://console5.com/store/gold-plated-premium-coaxial-rca-to-f-type-converter.html Also clean the RCA jack inside and out on the Coleco with some kind of contact cleaner. You will need something like a pipe cleaner to clean the center. Make sure to use a good shielded cable too. Your other option is to install an AV mod. Console5 usually sells one, but I think he got a bad batch and pulled them from his site temporarily. Or you can do an RGB mod if you have the proper display or scaler/converter: https://mobiusstriptechnologies.com/product/colecovision-rgb-board/ Depending on the controller issue, the controller ICs on the Coleco could be blown from static. Console5 sells replacement ICs and sockets as well: https://console5.com/store/colecovision-controller-chip-repair-kit.html Edited January 15 by nick3092

Mario moves to the left and stays there no matter which controller I use (without any input from me) which IC is it? I have a donor console. Tekman
Nice to see one of my DRAM to SRAM Converter PCBs installed out in the wild. Keep in mind that it's static discharge the blows U18 and U19 and others. Your test environment on the couch arm isn't an ideal location, especially this time of year depending on location when the air is dry and the heat is on building up some serious static. I recommend at least a cheap static safe environment for repairs. Something like this for under $20 will do the job https://www.amazon.com/Electronics-HPFIX-Grounding-Soldering-Resistant/dp/B08FHQDKDH
nick3092
And to protect them going forward under normal use when not decased on your couch, these will do the trick: https://console5.com/store/anti-static-d9-joystick-port-esd-set-pair-of-2-static-protection-add-on-pcb.html
