Hoyeboye
So I've got an INTV System 3 Model 3504. Had it for years and the cable finally fell off the unit. Yes, previous owner had done a fix and had somehow connected the cable to the RF modulator. Ground was sandwiched under the lid, but I'm not really sure where they landed the signal line. This modulator is the VM-445. Does someone have a picture of the insides? Can somebody tell me where the signal wire connects? I'm really trying to avoid an in-depth repair/upgrade because I don't want to take off the shielding underneath.
nick3092
Most likely the tab sticking up directly behind the hole for the jack.

I am not familiar with this specific modulator, but I would agree this opinion.
Hoyeboye
I was thinking that too, but the multimeter shows it's connected to the case which would be ground. I suppose I could give it a shot with some hookup wire first. Worst case would be that nothing happens.
Hoyeboye
6 months later, I finally made time to test it out. Nick3092 and walldog1 were correct! Re-soldered to the tab, pinned the shield under the RF Mod lid, and added some strain relief so this never happens again.
