2) HDMI output with CRT blur option - Bilinear filter and or scanlines? Decent scanlines require too much CPU grunt. Bilinear needs a UI or physical switch.

An option is to offload all post-processing to the GPU. We've been doing that lately with ArgonUnity (our Unity plugin version of Argon for B2B projects) - both the upscaling and the effects. Eventually we'll bring that code back to the consumer Argon app too.

include some sort of DRM that would allow Atari to sell NEW titles in ROM form, which would be locked to a user/device.  - It would be nice to test this out but regretably I would likely have to roll out the tired "I dont think the investment would bring in a profit"

If the customer base is OK with "locked to device" (which I don't think is what most people would consider "buying a ROM", where they expect it to be portable), it would be sufficient to have an online store, and that is a solved problem. Would require the device to have WiFi though...

Yeah, an SD slot OR games being loadable via the USB like The 400Mini in addition to the cart port would be ideal.

I think 400 compatibility should be added to the GSP.  It can handle 5200 games already.

Other than Hangman, any tips on Atari games for non gamers to try to draw them in?

Sneak & Peek, Maze Craze, Centipede, (has a Teddy Bear level), Flag Capture, Circus Atari, Surround, ( has a game mode to draw on the screen as well ) and Revenge If The Beefsteak Tomatoes ( has a unlimited lives mode)

*Yes, I am an old Dad, a late starter. 🤣

as a 21st century atarian, gotta say Demolition Herby, Air Raiders (theres an infinite ammo hack iirc or something like that to make it way less brutal), Activision Boxing, Adventure (Game Mode 1 is always nice), (the new enhanced especially) Berzerk, Smurf - Rescue in Gargamel's Castle, Keystone Kapers, HERO, Galaxian/Space Invaders, Missile Command, Donkey Kong, Atari Pac Man (ngl its jank but its also way easier to me, for a small child, i think its perfect to give them so they dont feel too overwhelmed... although the ghost flashing is an issue)

Those were the kinds of games i think i played a lot or would've loved back when i was playing the Flashback at a younger age, i'd say for more advanced titles that kinda are worth mentioning always, especially for those graduating to more advanced games are Ikari Warriors/Commando, Secret Quest, Dark Chambers, Mario Bros, Defender/Stargate/II and i'd say Radar Lock is a more Afterburner Straight-Forward pick-up-and-play Solaris, i debated putting it in the top list but i feel like its better here.

EDIT i didnt know radar lock needed 2 controllers until way too late... well perhaps put robotron 2084 there first

hope this perspective helps...

I might fail and Food Fight, Ninja Golf and Fatal Run might be the last 2600+ new products....but somehow I doubt that.

I hope that is more of a doubt now than ever,

seriously the support for the 7800 is genuinely amazing, it's actually becoming my main retro platform because theoretically its the most currently supported retro console, i'm hoping a few third parties would be fair with future repressings SNK licenses stuff to PC controller companies and eshop merchants like HAMSTER, so those studios would probably be cooler with repressings of their atari ports... and hopefully with more Intellivision IPs and such, we could see ports of underrated Intellivision/M Network/INTV Corp titles. Mayhaps even save some games from their early graves, even now i think the 7800 is a killer console today because of the support now, support that hasn't been seen since at least majesco/sega with their revisions in the 90's/00's its truly beautiful

Well, I ordered my 2600+ from the UK. Why pay $15 more to get it a couple of weeks sooner...

Probably won't order the paddle and cart pack. Canyon bomber is the only game I don't have and I probably have 5 sets of paddles.

I might order it if it has a special deal just to have it, but I was hoping both the console and paddle set would be a deal on prime day, but, no.

Lego is having their sort of prime day too. Pisses me off that the 2600 Lego set is $112 cheaper today than when I bought it. :(

And I cannot get the classic space coin...

Well, I apparently do have Canyon Bomber. Saw it in my 2600 cart box today. I have absolutely no reason to buy the paddle set... unless it is for collections sake.

Mine came with my used 2600+, i rarely use them but... everytime i actually use the paddle i crave more...
