oracle_jedi
I missed this auction completely. I have enough ST machines already so I probably would not have bid on it, but I would still have expected it to go for a bit more. The completed auction link is here. I copied the images for posterity for when Ebay clears the auction. Did one of our members win this? An interesting machine.
bfollowell
Interesting. I can't say that I've ever even heard of such a beast. The only 2MB machines I was aware of were the Mega2s.
mikro
I saw this unit (incl. the typo) back in Australia.
snarkdluG
Yet another board revision. Interesting they added buffer chips on the ram. I wonder where in the timeline this was created. Would have been nice to see inside the shifter box (probably no change there) and under the disk drive.

It says marketing sample underneath. Maybe just a prototype?
tjlazer
Very cool! Can this unit take up to 4MB?
Zafinn Books
These were sold into some Eastern european dealers as special orders circa 1987. The 4160STF was displayed at the World of Atari show the previous year (1986) but never sold. 2080/4160STE's were shipped to developers in 1989. Atari also provided these name-plates to select dealers who upgraded stock models in some countries.
