+atari2600land
So I'm done with programming the games and I'm wondering whether or not it's possible to make Bert's pupils in his eyes black. I've tried experiments to see if I could do it, but I came up empty-handed. player 0 - bert's eyes, nose and mouth - left side player 1 - bert's eyes, nose and mouth - right side playfield - bert's head, the letters at the bottom. The major part of the code starts at line 1,338. bert35.asm
alfredtdk
Cool. Will Bert have his own game or just a proof of concept? Edited February 11 by alfredtdk
+Karl G
Depending on how much time you have in your kernel, you could set COLUBK to 0 after the beginning of his left eye, then set back to 4 before the end of his right eye.
Thomas Jentzsch
I think this will work: Switch the P0 to quad width while the eyes are displayed (GRP0 = %11100111), then you can use M1/P1 for the eyes.
+atari2600land
I've been sitting here for an hour trying to do this, but it seems I can't. Can someone do it for me please?
Thomas Jentzsch
I do not have enough time, sorry. You probably have to split that kernel into three parts. Above eyes, eyes, below eyes. Maybe that helps.
glurk
I really do not understand this coding style at all, LOL. But I gave it a go, and this kinda works. Sort of... bert35.asm Edited February 14 by glurk
+atari2600land
I don't understand why there's gray in his eyes. I fiddled around with your code to try to get rid of it and it's being stubborn. Thanks for trying, though, I really appreciate it.
Thomas Jentzsch
There you go. Note: I tried to stay in line with your coding style. Actually it was very hard to follow your code, you should really work on structuring it better. bert35_jtz.asm Edited February 14 by Thomas Jentzsch
+atari2600land
Thank you so much! You're a real programming wizard with this stuff. Bert now has black eyes like I wanted. Thanks, I really appreciate it bert36.bin
