Pokeymax v2 issue or maybe newbie question

Now I have replaced the base and inserted the Pokeymax into an optimal contact surface.

 

The result is the same as before.

 

No keyboard, everything stays the same. I'm slowly running out of ideas.

Another important information regarding this small issue. I have tried this pokeyMax in 2 other xl-systems. The result is everywhere the same.

The other systems were in their original condition and had not been changed.

I think you need to test KR1 and KR2 as foft suggested, and perhaps take a photo of the IO Expander IC at the top right corner of the board.

 

This photo shows a board I encountered recently with a dry joint on the KR2 pin of the IO Expander, which prevented only the SHIFT, CTRL and BREAK keys from working.

Given it’s been tested in several computers it seems most likely a pokeymax hardware problem. I expect around the io expander too.

 

Did you purchase it new from a vendor or second hand? Is the goal to repair it yourself? That will require small smd device soldering skills. Of course we can advise how to fix it if you want to try.
 

Perhaps it’s time to contact the seller?
