DavidMil2
First it was my old Packman, now Joust is having problems. Not sure if I helped accelerate the damage (well I know I did) by using 1000 grit sandpaper on them a long time ago. I know now that I should have used a pencil eraser or Alcohol. Now I have to wiggle them around in the 800 to get them to make a connection to the computer. This is NOT good for either the PC or the cartridges. Anyway, does anyone have experience with electroplating? And what do you recommend to replace/repair the card edge connectors? I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks, DavidMil2
_The Doctor__
plain deoxit without the protectant/lube followed by the methods I outlined and gave links to in the past. I can't remember at the moment but they are in the forum. once done you won't have to keep at it no where near as much again.
Rybags
A conductive pen might be an option but I suspect it wouldn't produce a very durable contact surface.
ClausB
Very thin coat of solder might work. Older RAM boards were 'tinned' this way. They do corrode more quickly than gold and need reseating or cleaning, but carts get swapped in and out more often than RAM.
