Metal Jesus
I was watching the movie Electric Dreams (1984) for the first time last night, and I just love the scene in the beginning when the main characters is in a computer store. There is a TON of Imagic games in the background, almost like they sponsored the movie or something. That is one of the best part about watching older 1980s movies in 2024, seeing all the original arcade machines, posters and game kiosks in the background of so many scenes! What are some other 80s movies that have cool video game cameos like this? Edited April 12 by Metal Jesus
else
Cloak & Dagger features tons of Atari stuff (you probably already knew that). Also, there have been threads on this topic in the past. For example: Edited April 12 by else

else
Keep an eye out for the never-released Atari 5200 Tempest! Plus, it's got Dabney Coleman in it -- what's not to love....

He's giving George Burns a good run for his money
else
Much like the Swordquest series, Cloak & Dagger was another great idea and opportunity blown by Atari. They should have had Clock & Dagger games on store shelves the day that the movie opened in theaters....

+GoldLeader
I've never seen Cloak & Dagger the movie, nor played the video game, but... In the late 80's, for a short time, I had a Defender cabinet in my bedroom. And on one side was the Defender artwork just like you'd expect, and on the other side was Cloak & Dagger's artwork. I guess the machine was converted to Cloak & Dagger for a time, then converted back to Defender. On Topic: There's a Star Castle machine in Maximum Overdrive (1986), and Time Pilot '84... Lots of machines in Joysticks (1983) (of course), and Satan's Hollow must have been a promo with Bally/Midway...
roots.genoa
Not so long ago I stumbled upon an example that doesn't get thrown a lot since it's clearly not a movie for geeks. I hope I'm not confusing films because I watched several Fassbinder movies at the time (from a box set), but iirc In a Year of 13 Moons (1978) features an old arcade center with an awesome electromechanical racing game from Namco, and you can also see what seems to be Duck Hunt (the old version) in the back.
