Or for that matter, what it would look like with the shield under the acrylic. To make it look good and stay looking good, you'd have to shine it up and then seal it to keep it from oxidizing again. We learned that aluminum oxidizes the moment it is exposed to air so you'd probably have to anodize it. Now try to find a picture AI that is able to visualize an "Atari 800 computer in clear acrylic case with anodized aluminum shielding"
Mathy
Hello guys Aluminum does oxidize as soon as it gets in contact with the oxygen in the air. It forms a protective shield that stops further oxidizing, as do all precious metals. Unfortunately, some aluminum alloys do oxidize in such a way, that it does eat away at the metal. Brentarian
Didn't Scotty invent transparent aluminum back in 1986? It seems to me that would be the best solution in recreating the 800's metal shielding to be able to see straight through a clear case. 😁 2 1
tjlazer
It's because, just like back in the day, the Atari 8-bit is the red headed stepchild of Micro computers. lol Edited April 25 by tjlazer
