Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I've bene trying to find the Lo and HI TOS images for the ENG version of TOS 2,.06, I just need the two ROM version. Know where I can download so I can burn with my EPROM programmer?

Thanks

https://www.atarimania.com/list_utilities_atari_search_84.111.115.32.50._S_U.html for many TOS versions and languages then split with ROMSPLIT as found at

 https://atari.8bitchip.info/astopensw.php

I am not sure the Mega non STe already have the required address decoding for a 256KB TOS .... actually you may need specific decoding logic

So I know you wanted 2.06, but I can confirm this worked with EmuTos on my Mega ST

https://www.tindie.com/products/ArcadeStuff/1mbit-mask-rom-adapter/

Which will let you use....

I can't say if it will work with 2.06 as I still think you'd need a decoder.  But if you're just looking for something better than TOS 1.02/1.04 EmuTos isn't a bad way to go.

Usually the whole TOS version is downloaded and split as required on the Atari ST or ST emulator.

Loads of TOS images here:- https://avtandil.narod.ru/tose.html

ROM splitter here:- https://atari.8bitchip.info/TOS/TOSdep.html

As discussed previously, you will normally need a 192KB version for a MegaST.

Try the TOS1.04 without Line-F. It seems faster to me in an Atari STFM.

All seems a bit complex. Decided to burn the 6 ROM 1.04 TOS and a few mods to the board and all going great!

Thanks for everyone's advice.

I agree. It's probably not worth messing about. TOS 1.04 is probably the best Atari option for a Mega ST as they originally came with TOS 1.00. EmuTOS is more recent and still an option for you if you want to experiment.
