Robo Tito (a.k.a Tito el robotito contra los fantasmas)

Recommended Posts

Hi

I want to share my most recent project: Robo Tito (a.k.a Tito el robotito contra los fantasmas)

It is a jumpless platformer where you control Tito, a robot that can't jump, but he can stretch to reach platforms and hang from them.

Due to a programming error in his system, he is allergic to scary things. To his misfortune he is trapped in a place infested with scary things (zombies, ghosts, bats, skulls), so he have to look for an exit, avoiding to touch those spooky stuff.

I have tested it on Stella and on actual hardware. But as always testing and feedback would be appreciated.

FIRST DEMO

Robotito Demo 1

SECOND DEMO

Robotito Demo 2

DEMO 3

- More rooms

- Cosmetic changes

- Redesign some rooms and game mechanics.

Looks great as always!   What do you plan on using the action/joystick button for if you don't mind me asking?

Currently I am not even sure if I will use the button at all. But if I come up with some new mechanic that require an extra step/interaction I could give it some use.

It's coming along nicely, and I now have a vendetta against the first jumping green robot :)

Have you given consideration to an extra lives scheme?  Not anything that would make it dead easy, but maybe one at the end of each level, or possibly tied to reaching a certain point and performing a certain action.  The latter could be a risk / reward scenario depending on how it was done - have a control that awards a free life when operated, but make it a same-screen side quest, maybe?  Toggle it on and off with the difficulty switch?

Never mind - I found it :) Made it to End of Demo at 1051.

The recharging point give Robo Tito an upgrade the first time it used, increasing max HP by 1, also allow Robo Tito to refill his health bar anytime he used it, but since it is not on the main route and you have to detour to reach it, it cost you  time/score.
