Atari external floppy pin-out

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I want to make a SF314 to Atari ST cable (or two). I've printed the 3D connector and shell out to make up mu own cable but I can't seem to find the pinout for the cable.

As the cable will go either way I'm assuming it's virtually a pass through cable.

Anyone have the exact pinout so I can make my own cable?

Yes it should be a straight cable with no crossovers. You need one with a Discovery Cartridge too.

What do you mean "Discovery Cartridge"?

Happy Computing moved on from the Atari 8 bit and made an Atari ST cartridge that would flux copy most SSDD and DSDD floppy disks.

It needs a straight cable and I think it came with one. I have one in my garage somewhere as I now use Greaseweazle when necessary.

NOTE: I did not test this yet I am assuming TOS4.4 has support for this.

On Falcon there is no external floppy port but there is possibility of connecting second floppy internally and wiring the one missing gpio pin from Yamaha sound chip.
