PileofBones72
What's Up Everyone in Atari Land, Got a question. Had an Atari 1050 drive gave to me, It Does everything it should BUT it does not Eject the Disk. There is zero Resistance while putting one in and I have to carefully get my fingernails clamped on a disk to get it back out. Still a Newbie at Working on these things and Ya'll Have been very Patient and Insightful answering things. Anyhoos, What Should I be Looking for and How does one fix and find parts if needed to fix the problem? Anyone with In depth pictures to show exactly what I should be looking at and/or some advice would be greatly Appreciated! Thanks!
xrbrevin
Hi, apologies for the pic, its the only one i have to hand without digging out a drive etc ignore the red highlighted item (was used to reference a previous matter), the green one is the locking spring latch you need to examine. when a disk is inserted it pushes on a metal plate which the spring is attached to. the spring is stretched and locks with an audible 'click' when the disk is all the way in. when the disk is ejected, the lock is mechanically released and the spring ejects the disk. check yours for normal operation.
