FPGA ROM/BIOS expanding memory possible?

hello all, 

question is it possible to increase memory in ROM?

I want to include a bigger CHR BANK. 

the images below are what i have in mind.

NOTE: select screen colors are not colecovision palette, just approx.

It is possible but it would require some kind of bank switching. For example, keeping a fixed area at $0000-$0fff, and switching $1000-$1fff.

 

The Colecovision doesn't have a CHR ROM like NES, instead the video processor graphics are copied from RAM into VRAM.

All of your examples only differ in colour, so the same graphic patterns can be used and a bit of code to update the colour to the one required is all you need.
