I was trying to help a friend out. I already knew of the Ultimate PC Interface and the 2600  DB9 Adapter but as of today they have both been discontinued. I always meant get one for myself but never got around to it. So we're those 2 the only 2 out there? Is there anything else?

I bought a used Retronic designs adaptor last year.

I have not tried yet with my Intellivision II controller.

So now I was thinking, maybe I could use this retronic designs adaptor to use an INTELLIVISION II controller and then connect it to my computer's USB port and then run jzINTV?

but looking at mine, it appears to be a slightly older version.

The one in the picture on the web site is black  ( they list it as VADER, BLACK HELMET )

whereas mine is light gray in color

Do you think my version of the adaptor can be updated?

thanks,

Tim

There's a version number on the label, hard to see in your photo. I think certain old adapters, e.g. v2, can't take v3 firmware. Not sure if a v3.0 adapter can take v3.3 firmware. Best to ask the Retronic guy through his website. He's also been active here on the forums

If the previous owner used it with an Intellivision controller, it should work. If they used it with anything else, including Intellivision Flashback controllers, you'd have to change the firmware accordingly.
