JetBootJack
Hi i bought the paddles with my 2600plus. One paddle (typically the one that responded to player 1) is unusable erratic and jumpy. I initially thought perhaps its firmware/monitor issues but it turns out that they’re the same only classic 800xl too. Suggesting that it is the paddle itself. I have taken the offending paddle apart but there’s not much to fiddle with. Is there any trick out there to figure and out why the jumpy one is how it is and fix it? Stephen Moss
If ti was an old paddle then there would be the possibility that the carbon track on the potentiometer had worn, but unless there was a manufacturing error with the potentiometer I would think that a bad solder joint is the more likely option. As it is relatively new rather than trying to fix it yourself did you try first going back to the place you purchased it or the manufacture and request a replacement rather then dismantling it as it if you cannot fix it they would be unlikely to replace it now you have disassembled it. ShiftLock
I'm just curious, were you trying the paddles with the new 4 in 1 paddle game cart only? Or have you tried it with original old cartridges too?
