Inky
We all know about the programs that let you edit the GFX in 2600 games. Heck I also remember hearing of a program that lets you add your own levels to the arcade Tempest... What I want to know, is this: Is there a program that allows you to edit the gfx on arcade roms? Nukey Shay
Yes, there is a program called Turaco that lets you edit some of Mame roms. It was used to make the "after dark" versions of some of the games (i.e. "what if" games...that looked sort of vector-ish). I dunno how much it's been updated, though...and it's homepage appears to be dead The problem in hacking arcade games is that you need to hack a "known" version of a game (and then of course, the original "unhacked" version becomes unusable...unless you go in and build your own library for it and recompile Mame). Some older emus (like Sparcade) were not as picky as Mame, and you can create multiple hacks of the same game in the same directory. Getting roms for those older emulators...that's the hard part Anyway, Turaco for Mame avaliable here: http://www.zophar.net/utilities/graphutil.html "After dark" roms: http://home.kabelfoon.nl/~msilvius/sillyarcade.htm
