Recommended Posts

Yea, they don't even look like there are any SIMM slots for memory or anything. Just kidna wondered (was doing a serach for Atari Server ) and that came up.

I'm a prototype junkie so I was jus curious :)

Those use SIPP's which are pinned memory modules, uncommon, but not hard to find...

The only thing prototype about them is they have the 1st issue custom chips in the sockets, everything else is the same as the production boards.

The markings on the custom chips starting with ST is not for the ST computer but is the numbering designation for STyra Corporation. Atari bought STyra Corporation and they used them for most of the chip design and fabrication work from about 88-92.

I have 2 PC4's, they are nice computers, with an ethernet board, their 3.5", 5.25" and Syquest drive comes in handy for transferring stuff over to my main system.
