+davidcalgary29
I was given a 1040STfm about a month ago, but put it aside for awhile when it bombed upon bootup. When I opened the unit (and fixed the minor hardware problem causing startup difficulties) , I noticed that it had been modded with extra RAM and a PC Ditto 2 board. It seems to be activated by a toggle switch, but I can't seem to activate this card in a "native" mode when starting the computer. Can anyone advise how I can use the PC emulation feature? I don't have any documentation for this.
Major Havoc 2049
You'll need a copy of the PC Ditto software and a copy of MS-DOS. Don't expect anything high speed though. Were talking old school Lotus 1-2-3, Word Perfect, dBase, Wordstar, etc. For games, stuff like Zork 1-3 and the original Flight Simulator. If your using the original software, you might want a 5 1/4 disk drive for your ST as well. I don't even know if the original Flight Simulator even came out on 3 1/2 inch disks. +davidcalgary29
Thanks! I actually inherited a 5.25" ST drive and tons of software on floppies, so I'm probably good to go on that count.
