Adrian M
I need at least one driving controller for my Atari 2600 setup. I've seen several online dealers that have them (tested and working) in stock with varying prices. The best price I've found is $5.95 plus shipping. Is this too much or can I do better? maibock
I paid a buck for two at Philly Classic last year
joeybastard
I think anything <$10 total is fair for 2 but maybe that's just me.
Susuwatari
Just keep in mind not many driving controllers were made because they worked with only one game then. I don't know of the exact number but it'd have to be 2x the number of Indy 500 produced (since 2 were packed in with each cart) Some had been sacrificed for other project like the rotary controller for Tempest for Jaguar. bjk7382
I don't think they are that rare. Look at it this way. People that bought an atari got pacman and/or combat with it. And EVERY person that bought Indy 500 got controllers with it. So there are a lot out there But it is harder to find the sears version (I think they made the sears style DC. I know they did with paddles)
Adrian M
I think anything <$10 total is fair for 2 but maybe that's just me. Well, www.atari2600.com is the source that currently has them for $5.95 (each) plus shipping. Looks like that's my best option unless someone can suggest something else. +cvga
That seems fair to me. You might eventually find some cheaper but they can't end up being much cheaper since you're only starting with a $5.95 price. As long as shipping is reasonable, I'd do it. NE146
Yeah I mean how much cash are you looking to 'save'? If you get it for 2 bucks for example you saved 4 bucks.. woohoo! . You know what I'm saying $5.95 sounds good to me. Don't forget that they originally sold in the Indy 500 pack for $35-$

But since I've seen prices vary a bit depending on the retailer, I just wanted everyone's opinion as to what a "fair" price is for these controllers. Here's another source that's charging $6 a pair. http://www.collectorscardsandgames.com/games01.htm
