Tempest
I came across a reference today to the infamous Atari Jaguar UART bug. Can anyone explain what exactly the UART bug was? Keep in mind that I'm not a Jag coder, mearly curious Tempest
+Saturn
I too have heard references to this on numerous occasions and to this day have no idea what it is/does. Would be nice if one of these fine, Jag savvy developers could come and dole out an explanation.
Tyrant
I'm very sleepy and cant remember the specifics but its to do with the serial ports and networking, I seem to remember its something along the lines of "if you ever stop transmitting for even one byte, you have to reinitialise next time you want to send" or something like that. Someone who's better with jaggy code than me Im sure will post a better answer tho.
