Tempest
I was just playing a few games on my TT030 and I noticed that there wasn't any sound. Is there a voulme control somewhere or is my internal speaker dead? Tempest
belboz
If your booting games from floppy and not hearing anything it might be disconnected or bad. I don't believe it can be turned off except from programs like Xcontrol, but you can't do that when booting auto folder or autobooting games. If it was not your TT originally someone probably just disconnected the internal speaker because they were using external speakers.
Tempest
Can I plug any kind of external speakers into it or are they a specific Atari type speaker port? Tempest
Tempest
Ok I have sound now, but it's really quiet! How do I turn up the volume? Is it part of that XControl thing? I appear to be missing that file. Tempest
krupkaj
You can download full xcontrol package withthis module form: http://www.ataricq.org/cntr_pan/index.htm
tjlazah
Yeah I noticed this too. Some ST games must hit the hardware directly and not work on the TT. Some have sound but low, and some work fine.
Ayreon
Internal speakers suck The TT should have the same audio out as the STE. Wich are standard "tulip plugs" as we call them here and they're handy to connect to your amplifyer. Unfortunatly, most active speakersets for the pc use a mini stereo jack. But it's rather easy to make your own leads that go from tulip to a mini stereo plug... or you can buy such a convertor. I think everybody will reccomend to hook up your Atari's to an amp or active speaker set.
