MegaData
I've downloaded "Asteroid," "Native," "Phase Zero," "Arkanna," and other demos for Atari Jaguar. I'm still having problems determining what address to upload to for some titles, but what are all the game demos that are freeware/shareware on the net and already abvailable to those of us with Flash Carts, Alpine Boards, and other developer Jaguar hardware? Looking at the BattleSphere.com site, my first impression is that they could use a better description of the demos on the CD they are selling. The price may be low and attractive, but the sales pitch leaves something to be desired.

Walter_J-64
CD encryption defeater, ok what is that?
someguy
The verification defeater means the cart forces the JagCD drive to not look for encryption verification, but simply loads the JagCD file into the Jaguar's (2MB?) RAM. No one knows how to create an encrypted CD without such a device, so no one has been able to create any JagCD games - until now. >ScatoLOGIC Inc. is pleased to announce the >release of their first Jaguar CD >title. Designed to run on any Jaguar CD >unit which has an encryption / >verification defeater cartridge installed, I'm guessing from the sounds of it that this means the CD will work with either the BSGold cart or the P:SE cart...? I'm guessing this is the case too. I'm not sure if this is the same bypass code that both ScatoLOGIC and Songbird are Sharing, or if it's different, but Carl said he would be releasing the code so anyone can use it to make their own bypass-carts if needed. My second assumption is that the idea is to have this baby available in multiple products, BattlsphereGold, Protector:SE, etc. so that the majority of Jaguar collectors/owners will come across the bypass in one form or another to sort of "standardize" it so everyone can enjoy new Jagcd software regardless of what new products they buy. I'm at least hoping that this is all a cooperative effort between the remaining Jag developers&Publishers and not a competition.
