tiw
all built in Sunnyvale ? I just found a Telegames 6 switch unit with two of the older style joysticks, all the springs inside, and the power supply is gray and says Atari, Sunnyvale. I have not seen a gray Atari power supply before. The switch board on the unit is stamped 7 78 which I am assuming is the manufacture date? I replaced the cords on both joysticks, and found that some audio cables I bought awhile back were a match for the loong rf cable( 16' long). The power supply has a very long cord also at leat 12" long. I guess they didn't have so many outlets in houses back in the early days of Atari? Anyway I am very happy with the old warhorse. S/n on this unit is 11, 5 hundred something I think with a w suffix. Can anybody verify the date of mfg by the serial number? TIA
JB
I know my Telegames isn't the heavy sixer, which seems to be the question you're actually asking. Haven't checked the actual place of manufacture...
Christophero Sly
No, not all Tele-games consoles are six-switchers. Interpreting Atari serial numbers is difficult. To my knowledge, serial numbers do not indicate a specific manufacture date. However, if you have a true heavy-sixer, the serial number can give an indication of whether the console is an early, mid, or late-run unit. I'd have to see a picture of your console and it's serial number sticker to be certain, but based on the "w" suffix in the serial number, I'd say you have a late-run system. tiw
This is a picture of the Telegames 6 switch unit. To jb, NO I was not asking if it was a heavy sixer. I was just wondering with the label and all the above decription where it fell in the time line of Atari manufacturing.
