Heaven/TQA
is (again) one of the best home versions...i played it on mame, psx, 2600 & GBA... and this is as well nearly perfect... i like how they used the 7800 machine... the only issue is... on arcade the flowers (levels) should reset after 5 and a larger flower should grow... here it seems when the line is full... I hate the 7800 version, the controls don't feel right to me.
oesii
I have never really payed attention to the 7800 Dig Dug but after seeing your post this morning, I played it for a bit. Solid port, I have no complaints, excellent gameplay. Whether it's the best home version available or as good as the arcade I'm not sure, I'd have to do lots more research
Joey Kay
7800 Dig Dug is the absolute best game to play!!!! And the nice part is, unlike Asteroids or Ms. Pac Man, there are pauses where you can take a sip of your drink!!! Cheers! Joey
SS
7800 “Dig Dug” is perhaps not a perfect port but it certainly spends more time in my console than most of my other 7800 titles.
Chris-in-NJ
I played it tonight for the first time in over a decade, and it is much, much better than the 5200 version (which I played for the first time ever two months ago!) Control is much more precise, and I was using the 7800 version of the Redemption adapter to play it on my 5200. The 7800 graphics look arcade perfect to me, though as I haven't *seen* the arcade version in more than 20 years I could be wrong. The fire from Fygar, Pooka's sunglasses, and the vegetables all look much more realistic -- the 5200 veggies look like shapeless blobs at times! I really like 7800 Dig Dug, even after one play, as I don't have the frustration of fighting the controllers (yes, even using 7800 sticks on the 5200 I have to fight them). If only Atari had sold this version in 1984 like planned...
