+kheller2
I have a 7800 cart board that says something like eprom prototyping board. It has a 1984 copyright on it. I think I got it from Glenn Brunner (sp?) years ago when I was working on my 1400 and 1450XL motherboards. Anybody else know what I'm talking about? This thing rare or is every home brewer using one? Tempest
Does it look anything like this? There are a couple of different revisions out there. They're fairly rare, but unless they have a game on them, they're not too useful. Tempest
+kheller2
Nope.. has the same similar shape.. but that isn't it. I have 7800 Diag proms in there now. It a Rev 1 board 32K. "GCC" on the chip side, atari logo on the back. I'll post a pic later tonight once I get back on my TiG4 . Karl
Tempest
Ok then you have one of the first ones. Those are really rare. Is the Diagnostic program any different than the one that's out there? Tempest
+Mitch
That sounds similar to mine. You can see a picture of mine on Dan's site. http://www.atarihq.com/danb/7800cart/C025513.shtml Mitch
+kheller2
That's the one. Not sure where you got the Atari part number.. Mine doesn't have one on it. Karl oh.. not sure about the diagnostic code.
MattyXB
I have one without EPROM or ROM on it.
+Mitch
I have one without EPROM or ROM on it. That's a Ballblazer board with a socket. Atari used them for EPROM testing for a short while I believe.

Mine has an Atari part number on the back above the Atari logo. It's also says Rev1A, maybe that's what the "A" is for. By the way, are you the same Karl Heller that use to do the 2600 FAQ? I also did a Jaguar ftp site for a while when it first came out. Cleveland FreeNet Atari 8bit boards for a bit... wrote some war dialers and sector editors that used to be on CompuServe in the 80's. Prior Atari 1400 proto type owner, still got a 1450XL board though! Glad someone remembers me....
+Mitch
Guess this 7800 ROM:© 1984 GCC VIA THE ALIEN - © 1984 ATARI VIA RON AND JERRY - LONG LIVE MARIA! Am I allowed to guess this one? Mitch
+kheller2
Guess this 7800 ROM:© 1984 GCC VIA THE ALIEN - © 1984 ATARI VIA RON AND JERRY - LONG LIVE MARIA! Am I allowed to guess this one? Mitch Sure thing.. shouldn't be that hard.. let me help you here: (heller@darktower:[3:06pm]-105-) /usr4/Atari/7800_bin/ROMS> grep "ATARI VIA" * Binary file xxxxx.bin matches Granted.. this trick doesn't work on som ROMs that don't have ASCII strings in them.. like, oh .. xevious. Which is odd. Only 25 roms have the word "Atari" in plain text.
+Mitch
It's the 7800 diagnostic test cart BIN. Mitch
