StanJr
In an effort to keep all of these hacks straight and to make things less insane when trying to update the 2600 Hacks page (coming soon!). I'm going to start a 2004 Hacks page so that we have a running tab of Hacks that have been made this year (note some of these are carryover from the end of 2003, bear with me). ATARI TROLL
Awesome Idea Stan!! I have one that I am starting. Blinky's Revenge. Won't say anymore but keep your eyes open for it. There are lots of great pacman, ms pacman hacks here. I did find out a secret with Invisible Pacman....If you hit the select and reset button at the same time, the walls of the maze and background are no longer invisible. The background is black and the walls and dots are white. To all you pacman fans, thanks for getting me hooked. Can't get enough of the pacman at the moment. Keep your eyes open for Blinky's Revenge....All Blinky can think about is Cheers

Dan Iacovelli
I know I shouldn't ask this since you played it already, but, why isn't laserman2k3 (keystone kappers hack) listed? I figure it will prob be added later on anyways(since you did say that your trying to keep it updated regularly) (Dejavu: I have feeling that we had this same talk before (like when you asked for hacks before)

Dan Iacovelli
yeah, but just a few from after Dec 15. thanks anyway Dan, I appreciate your vigilance. When do we see your next hack? it won't be for a while, since I will have to use hack o matic (laserman2k3 was done with AHD which was easy for me to use) I still need to get used to HOM. I do have few hacks in mind before I start work on my actual games.
Susuwatari
What about my Ghost in Jar? (hack of Eggmania) I've only tweaked the graphical part and it's on hold until I can figure out how it assigns the color so I can get that yellow goo to green and ghost to light green/white. Changing the bear is easy since there's only 1 image but the bird's a major PITA because there's at least 12 individual frames!
uosipa llamxew
Where can I see Nitemare Pinball?!? This sounds intriguing! :-)
+Atarius Maximus
Hmmm... not sure if this one was represented on your 2003 Hack List or needs to go on the 2004 list, I posted it on 12/26/2003. neotokeo2001
Where can I see Nitemare Pinball?!? This sounds intriguing! :-) Don't get your hopes up. It's just Video Pinball with a few changes. StanJr
Susuwatari, I'll add it as soon as it is finished. I've got my eye on it. Thanks for the addition, Atarius, its been added. What are you working on next?
Rob Mitchell
Indy Sprintmaster (Sprintmaster DC hack by Rob Mitchell) Gotta put Thomas Jentzsch's name down for this one too. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
StanJr
I thought that was implied with the "Sprintmaster DC hack" part.
raindog
This may sound coming from the author of the old HOM, but.... any chance you'll differentiate sprite-only hacks from code hacks this year?
uosipa llamxew
I really like that idea. Using a table with various information would be nice too, then the hacks wouldn't necessarily need to be seperated, just noted.
+Atarius Maximus
This may sound coming from the author of the old HOM, but.... any chance you'll differentiate sprite-only hacks from code hacks this year? Good idea, but that would lump an advanced code hack like Berzerk: Voice Enhanced with my simple code hack of Kabobber, where all I did was change some colors in the code (in addition to the sprites). Oh well, I guess it's hard to classify and categorize absolutely everything perfectly. There was a discussion about this a while back about how to classify a heavily modified ("code") hack: http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.p...hlight=hackbrew AM
StanJr
I do make a distinction when I do the Stan Awards between what I call "graphic hacks" "functional hacks" and "combined hacks" Graphic hacks only change the appearance of the game. Functional hacks change the way the game is played and Combined Hacks do both. Its up to Albert if he wants to include that much information in the Hack Page. I think it would be a good idea. raindog
Tempest 2000, eh? Some friends of mine were playing some flash game with a dolphin that they said was giving them seizures, and I was like, "I could use those same techniques to get something remotely Llama-esque going on the 2600...." Some friends of mine were playing some flash game with a dolphin that they said was giving them seizures, and I was like, "I could use those same techniques to get something remotely Llama-esque going on the 2600...." ah ah... correction. Tempest 2600. I am a big fan of Jeff Minter and Llamasoft. It's something about strobing graphics, sheep, pixel-pyrotechnics, and bizarre themes that captures my attention. :-) I put that in the "fictitious list" as a joke... also, I don't know if anyone picked up on it, but the graphic hacks are 3 to 1 on the code hacks... and all of the graphic hacks are of space invaders. :-) Sorry, I have a bizarre sense of humor. kbye

Functional hacks change the way the game is played and Combined Hacks do both. Its up to Albert if he wants to include that much information in the Hack Page. I think it would be a good idea. Please do make these distinctions on the hack page. Last thing someone wants to do is go though many many hacks as they continue to increase in number in the years to come. Maybe there should be a separate Space Invaders graphic hack page. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
