tjlazah
Surely the Atari can do a better job than the C64 version right? Or not? The C64 version is good specially the music!
emkay
Surely the Atari can do a better job than the C64 version right? Or not? The C64 version is good specially the music! There are two things the ATARI cannot do but the C64 can: 1.Using all his colours in Hires 2. Program filters for each Audio-channel. cgfatari79
Well Here's an Example of what a few more colours could do to revamp a classic title like this now just add some voice samples from the original arcade game Like sheddy did for space harrier, and Bobs Yer Uncle. A few colors more is good You are using near the double in colors.
emkay
In case of "what's possible" I created a picture in G2F in Hires. To move the objects, moving bitmap and always one player would be necessary. On the picture you can see one "Hero" sprite to the left and one "big" enemy to the right. One ship is exploding. Then you can see two "software" sprites flying on the screen. One is flying behind the waterfall and its getting blue.... I'll do some more work on this "virtual" Game ... andy_bernstein
I forgot to add that there is already a Ghost'N'Goblins clone on the A8 platform: Domain of the Undead from Red Rat Software. For those who don't want to wait for a brand new port. AB.
andy_bernstein
http://www.atarimania.com/detail_8bits.php...99&SOFT_ID=6453 Seems another clone (although a playable demo) of Ghost'n'Goblins has been uncovered. AB.
TMR
Hmm, it looks a bit weak graphically... that's a shame. Edit: okay, tried playing it now; has the coder not heard of smooth scroll... or smooth movement...?! i can see where he was going, but he's got lost on the way. andy_bernstein
TMR, I haven't tested it yet. What is for sure: it's a demo (probably a work in progress) plus it's been written in Turbo Basic so that might explain. Bros by KE-Soft -the first Super Mario Bros clone before Mux started his own- was also written in Turbo Basic and it definitely had blocky movements due to its use of redefined characters. www.atarimania.com
Hi, Credit must go to Fandal for sending this playable demo  Anyway, considering the game is written in TB, it's not bad at all... -- Atarimania http://www.atarimania.com
