JerseyDevil
I tried using a Genesis controller on my Colecovision and it does not work right. I think the buttons are sending information back to the console and messing it up. My question is if I open the Genesis controller and somehow disconnect the other buttons or cut the wires for the buttons, would this solve the problem. I'd rather not destroy my controller before I know if it would work or not. Any opinions?

If you do get it working how would you play the games that use the number pad to select the player options in the begining? I have a nes/atari controller that would work good with it if I could find a way to use the number pad at the same time.
Christophero Sly
I think you can use the number pad on controller 2. Sorry, I don't know anything about using a Genesis controller.
jsoper
You can ask this every month, but the answer's not going to change http://www.atariage.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=41771

Is it true you can use a number pad controller in the second port, while using an Atari 2600 controller in the first port to actually play the game? jsoper
Yeah, that works for some games. Connecting a 2600 stick and cv controller to the same jack with a y-adapter is slightly better. Better yet is to mount a dsub 9 connector into your cv controller and plug a 2600 stick into it. That one works 100%, but you only have 1 fire button (1/6 of cv games use both buttons). It's the connector that fits the end of the joystick cable. Radio Shack and other places, you can recognize it by sight.
Bratwurst
Cool, now if you could say that in English. What is a dub 9 connector and where can I get one? Would both female plugs on the Y cable be connected to each respective pin of the male? If so I could make you a Y cable free of charge JerseyDevil.
