Marble Craze question

After about 1000 tries at finishing level 13, I finally completed it (going from 6 extra marbles to 0 of course) and arrived at level 14. The horizontal meter on the top of the screen wasn't there, but the vertical one was. Is this the way it's supposed to be?

 

Of course, without seeing the horizontal gauge, I lasted about 2 seconds on this level. Can anyone confirm this is correct for level 14? Thanks.

I'm amazed you got that far. I love the game but I suck real bad at it.

Level 13 is as far as I can make it before I lose all my marbles.

 

Paul Slocum gave me a personal walk-through of the upper levels of the game at AGE. But damn if I can remember that particular level. At the time, I was working on getting past level 12.

Yeah, on level 14 you can't see the horizontal paddle, and at times you can't see either one of them (or anything else for that matter.) The Haunted House is dark.

 

I can usually make it to 17 or 18, so they are all doable, although 18 is definitely questionable. You might try starting on 15 to build your skillz, then go back and try 10-14 again.

Thanks. Just making sure there wasn't a bug in my copy. If it only took me 1000 tries to beat 13, it will probably take 10000 to beat 14. Sheesh.
