+Mitch
Well, I didn't get any response in the 2600 forum so I thought I'd try here. Does anyone want to make a stab at the rarity for the PAL 2600 Diag cart? And second does anyone have one? Mitch
CincYnoTi
not sure how rare it is...at least as rare as the ntsc one. i saw one on ebay a couple months back that i thought was a PAL diagnostic. i can't seem to find the link to it though. it had a description that did NOT describe it well. maybe someone here won that auction
sku_u
Was it strictly an in-house diag cart, or was it sent off to servive centers abroad?
Saikyo
Weee surley ALL diagnostic carts are rare i mean like very rare i mean if they werent available to the general public then thats RARE almost as rare as it gets surely?

Not really, there were quite a few Atari Service locations throughout the US and each of them probably had between 5-20 diagnostic carts. Yep, I owned about 4 of them over the last 2 years, what you don't see too often is the Kluge cart (also called STC cart). The diag carts are often hidden in very odd auctions and many people miss them.
CincYnoTi
cpu, did you catch the 2600 pal diag auction? i cannot seem to find a link to it. it was on ebay in the last three months i thought.
CPUWIZ
Yes, I did, I can't find the link either. It definately looked like a PAL diag cart, I agree.
Saikyo
its still rarer than most but still i agree if there is say about 10 service station that means there will be about 400 Diag carts going around oh well my bad!

There were a lot more authorized Atari service centers than that.

+Mitch
So... no one wants to admit to owning one? Mitch Or no one has one. True, but with all of the big name collectors here I find it hard to believe that no one has one. I guess I'll just have to go find one myself. CPUWIZ
Why on earth would anyone not admit to having a PAL diagnostic cart ?
MattyXB
I wish I own one. But sorry I don't own it.
sku_u
Why on earth would anyone not admit to having a PAL diagnostic cart ? I heard that this cart is much fun to use, especially on a non-PAL TV that everyone who owns one wants to keep it a secret.

So you won a PAL 2600 Diag cart? I actually was able to pick one up a week ago but I'd still like to see your dump and check if it is any different than mine.
