Chris-in-NJ
Just got Vanguard from CPUWIZ and have noticed a few things... Doesn't the opening music contain a part that sounds remarkably similar to the opening theme from Star Trek: The Next Generation? I'm having a tough time moving with my 7800 stick in the zone with the things that look like horseshoe crabs. Is the movement for this zone programmed any differently from the others, where I have no problem? I don't recall the music in the arcade version being so carnivally! Voch
Doesn't the opening music contain a part that sounds remarkably similar to the opening theme from Star Trek: The Next Generation? Yep...it does this in the arcade, too. Check out the KLOV's page on Vanguard. I don't recall the music in the arcade version being so carnivally! I think it was that goofy in the arcade...I'll have to check with my MAME machine when I get it set up this weekend. Voch
Vic George 2K3
Technically speaking, it's the "Star Trek: The Motion Picture" theme, since Star Trek: The Next Generation didn't come out until 1987. The credits for the movies Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Insurrection all refer to the theme music by that title.
Chris-in-NJ
Knew that about ST: TMP, I just figured that more people here would be familiar with TNG as it's being repeated continuously on Spike TV. The original TMP soundtrack CD is a great disc to use to show off one's audio system, the track "The Cloud" has some incredible lows in it... Sorry about this off-topic-ness, I'm something of a soundtrack collector (though I've lapsed in recent years)
