Fredde
I was checking around on the excellent pong-story when I noticed that there was a game called "Haunted House" for the 'ol Magnavox Odyssey. Would this be counted as the first horrror game (it's before Haunted House on the VCS)?

Magnavox Odyssey came out in 1972 and featured a Haunted House game .. whereas Haunted House came out for the Atari VCS2600 sometime in 1980-81 .. almost 10 years later! wrenchien
is magnavox still making tvs, anyway? or did someone buy them out?
Rob Mitchell
I see the reference... Anyone have any screenshots or a gameplay description? Overlay features a dark haunted house with most of the overlay is opaque (no light shines through). There are parts of the overlay that are luminesce (light shines through) at windows, gravestones, characters, etc. You move your TV block left/right, up/down at random until your block lights up part of the overlay! Ralph3
is magnavox still making tvs, anyway? or did someone buy them out? I have a Phillips/Maganvox big screen TV, so YES they are still around making TVs.
