tyranthraxus
Did CBS release DK in a box? If so, did they change the pack in game?

SS
Sorry. I did some Google-ing around but couldn't find any info. Interesting question though.
Zaxxon
I'm not sure about CBS, but I've seen a boxed Coleco DK, so maybe they did too.
NovaXpress
Coleco released Donkey Kong in a box and sold it on the shelf along with the other launch titles. This always confused me because Coleco owners would already have the game. Maybe it was available in case they lost it?
tyranthraxus
I'm not sure about CBS, but I've seen a boxed Coleco DK, so maybe they did too. Really? I thought it never was in a retail box. I'm trying to assemble a collection of boxed DKs on the various platforms it appeared and thought that CBS might be an option for the CV. Along the same line I wonder why Atari released Pole Position II in a box for the 7800?
Zaxxon
Atari also released Cybermorph for the Jag boxed but they did also release a Jag w/o a pack-in. I don't think the CV was ever sold w/o a pack-in but it may have been. Sometimes retailers like Sears and JCPenney have their own special packages for X-mas catalogs. EDIT: I can't seem to link to the image for some unknown reason. Vic George 2K3
I did see boxed ColecoVision Donkey Kongs at a Sears store back in the early-to-mid 1980s
NovaXpress
Come to think of it, every single system's pack-in game was also available on the shelves, though they weren't common.
holygrailvideogames.com
Did CBS release DK in a box? If so, did they change the pack in game? I thought that I saw one on eBay awhile back. I know that someone sold a boxed DK made by Coleco and it sold for a lot.
joeybastard
I've never seen a boxed CV DK. I just assumed it didn't come out tthat way. Mayube it was released for the Adam? What was the pack in with Adam?

tyranthraxus
all this time I had assumed there wasn't a boxed DK for the CV. That gives me something to hunt and save up for. Thanks for the pic.
