shining slade
Who liked this game, and what systems did it come out on?? (Besides the Vectrex)
Nukey Shay
Officially? Or clones as well?

joeybastard
I've been playing on Konami Advanced thru my GBA player on the GC. It kicks ass, I always preferred Scramble to Super Cobra. As for systems Scramble came out for, the only one I can think of is the C64 and GB. Didn't everybody else get Super Cobra?
christianscott27
theres a suprisingly good table top version from tomy, tomy also used this license on its obscure computer the tomy tutor.
NE146
Scramble is one of my all time FAVORITES . It's mostly a nostalgia thing.. as Scramble is probably one of the first games that had a mythos to me as a kid where I'd lie in bed wondering what happened "at the end" It's kind of hard to pit it against Super Cobra though.. that's sort of like pitting Stargate againsts Defender. As far as home versions go.. yeah you had the Vectrex version.. and I never played the C64 version (or even seen it). However since Super Cobra has been ported to all sorts of systems including the 2600, I still say like always there's no reason why a decent port of Scramble (at least on par with Parker Bros. Super Cobra) couldn't be made for the 2600 .. or any classic console for that matter. There are other versions of Scramble that reached home in handheld format of course as well. The most popular (and really good one I might add) is the Tomy version. Good stuff Also there's an LCD and VFD version made by Epoch/Grandstand. I only have the LCD version, but I'd love to try the VFD version sometime. Here's some shots: Tomy VFD Scramble Grandstand VFD Scramble Epoch LCD Scramble And apparently there was a version or two of Scramble for the Tomy Tutor.. but I've never personally seen it outside of the Interweb Tomy Tutor Scramble
JerseyDevil
Scramble and Super Cobra are both on the Konami Arcade Classics for the PS1.
shining slade
The most popular (and really good one I might add) is the Tomy version. Good stuff I've played this before, but I cannot remember where. I think one of my friends had it when I was a kid. I wonder what an actual arcade version would go for these days? Jess Ragan
I really liked Astro Command by Epoch... it was basically Scramble with a different name. It was a whole lot of fun. I sure wish I still had mine, along with that tabletop version of Crazy Climber I had back when I was a kid. JR

SteveW
I always thought that the Tomy Tutor was based on the Texas Instuments Home Computer, so it's odd that it didn't make the leap over to the TI-99/4A.
Ze_ro
I don't mind Scramble... but I really suck at it. I don't think I've ever gotten to the final screen, and I rarely even make it past the meteor shower. The Konami Arcade Advanced version is good, and it even has updated graphics if you use the Konami code. I also have an old Entex tabletop version of Super Cobra which is quite good, although I'm missing the battery covers. --Zero
NE146
I rarely even make it past the meteor shower. Stay low as you can hiding behind the highest mountain you can find! Then when the coast is clear, "hop" over the mountain to hide again. This works generally well in keeping you clear of having to maneuver to avoid the meteors. DeV0
That Tomy hand held is excellent, I did have 2 of them and traded one. I'll keep my hands on the spare one. Apart from the vectrex one i dont think ive ever played it on any other system.
Albert
I love Scramble (and Super Cobra), but could never afford to pump in enough quarters when I was a kid to get good enough at Scramble to finish it. How does Scramble end?? ..Al
NovaXpress
Once you destroy the base, you get a simple "Congratulations" and then its back to Wave 1.

joeybastard
Hmmm... I guess I'm wrong about a C64 version but I could swear there was one. Old age cathcing uptome I guess! Sorry for the misinformation, all.

Konami released Super Cobra instead. But I definitively like Scramble more. Beside, Scramble is considered to be the unofficial prequel of Gradius. Hmm... I would love to play Scramble on the ColecoVision...
