bradjewell
I was playing PSO and when i quit went to save, and it would not save... It said something to the effect of "the cave game that was there in teh beginning is not there now" I didnt move anything between starting to play and stopping playing... the vmu batteries are dead.. Do you have to have live batteries to save? is this something funny in PSO..? any help appreciated.. Brad
Stingray
Ithe vmu batteries are dead.. Do you have to have live batteries to save? My VMU also has a dead battery, but it works fine when plugged into the controller. -S

Brian R.
VMUs don't need their batteries to save game data. Without the battery, it just works as a memory card. Maybe somehow your save file got corrupted while you were playing.
Ze_ro
Did you check the VMU to see if there actually is a save file on it or not? It's possible that something went wrong and it got corrupted or something. PSO is really finicky about VMU's. You definitely don't need batteries in the VMU to save games though... the batteries are just to power the screen when the VMU isn't in the controller. All data is saved on flash roms like any other memory card. --Zero
