XE Xenophobe found?

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping it turned out well. I was quite impressed with the COMMANDO conversion for the 8-bits ... it was much sharper than I thought it would be. While I don't feel it eclipsed the 7800 or NES versions, it was not the type of game you commonly saw on the 8-bits Atari computers. The sprites were good, the use of color was good, the scrolling was good ... and the game was detailed.

I'm pretty sure that Xenophobe and Mat Mania Challenge will be the next 8-bit Atari proto releases. I've also heard rumours that Ikari Warriors has been located, but have not been able to confirm this. [/i]

More secrecy about prototypes. :P They're probably sitting beside CHUCK NORRIS, MISSING IN ACTION for the 7800 on some prototype collector's shelf.

Wish it was my shelf...

I wish it was my shelf too! If it was, I'd have a site up showing pictures, screenshots, game info. ;-)

I know several of the retailers have Xenophobe (Bruce Caruso said this in a post some time ago), but they were all having some troubling creating carts. Lance Ringquist just released Jinks on cart, of course (64k) version, and several other Tramiel-era protos have been discovered. Mat Mania Challenge seems like a sure thing for a future release, and we'll just have to cross our fingers with respect to Ikari Warriors, Ninja Golf, and Skyfox. :)
