DracIsBack
Has anyone found the Atari XE version of Xenophobe? I was secretly hoping it would get released like COMMANDO and MIDI MAZE.
Tempest
I know of people who "Have it somewhere", but I have not seen it personally. I'm sure it will turn up soon. I'm really curious as to how well it turned out. Tempest
DracIsBack
I'm hoping it turned out well. I was quite impressed with the COMMANDO conversion for the 8-bits ... it was much sharper than I thought it would be. While I don't feel it eclipsed the 7800 or NES versions, it was not the type of game you commonly saw on the 8-bits Atari computers. The sprites were good, the use of color was good, the scrolling was good ... and the game was detailed.
+davidcalgary29
I'm pretty sure that Xenophobe and Mat Mania Challenge will be the next 8-bit Atari proto releases. I've also heard rumours that Ikari Warriors has been located, but have not been able to confirm this. [/i]

They're probably sitting beside CHUCK NORRIS, MISSING IN ACTION for the 7800 on some prototype collector's shelf.

Goochman
I know Video61was gong to sell Xenophobe at one time - maybe they have pics?
+davidcalgary29
I know several of the retailers have Xenophobe (Bruce Caruso said this in a post some time ago), but they were all having some troubling creating carts. Lance Ringquist just released Jinks on cart, of course (64k) version, and several other Tramiel-era protos have been discovered. Mat Mania Challenge seems like a sure thing for a future release, and we'll just have to cross our fingers with respect to Ikari Warriors, Ninja Golf, and Skyfox. Tempest
Lance Ringquist just released Jinks on cart, of course (64k) version So this is the one Atari was going to release or was that one 32K? Tempest
TheGreatPW
I remember seeing Xenophobe and Mat Mania Challenge as prototypes for sale for the Atari XE Game System. I remember this was back in the late 90s in the final B&C Computervision catalogs. I think they stopped updating them after the late 90s.
