tantone56
I need one of the boxes to plug my odyssey into because of the weird end part of it. Does anyone here know where they may sell something similar to it today that would get the job done?
Rob Mitchell
What you want to do: Easy: Open up the O2 and remove its cable and replace with a RCA cable (like found on the Atari). Harder: Cut the end off the O2 and solder a RCA plug to it. Harder: Remove the O2 cable .. turn it around .. cut the small plug off and solder the connections to the circuit board. Harder: Put a RCA jack on the back of the O2. Hardest: Get an O2 switchbox. Rob Mitchell, Atlanta, GA
Famicoman
Do what rob says. That sounds pretty good. I was lucky enough to have the switchbox included in my purchase.

video game addict
oh thanks man but its the odyssey 500 that im trying to get hooked up. sorry I should have said that before. They are all the same, with exception to the original Odyssey 1(that one had the odd shaped plug on both ends) But basically you just open it up and unplug the cable from inside. It's a standard RCA inside the unit, and replace with a real rca cable so you can plug into a standard switchbox or f-type to female rca plug. The original Odyssey switchboxes aren't impossible to get, I've found several over the years, but sometimes even having one is of little use if it puts out a crappy signal on the tv. Much easier to just swap out the cable with the more standard rca style cable and use the more common style switchbox or ends.

VidGameKing
you think the 500, is hard to find help and support for, I have an original Odessey that is impossible to work with!
video game addict
The original Odyssey systems are quite rare!
VidGameKing
yeah I have a complete system, but I'm missing several of the game accsessories like the poker chips, and what not, but other than that, I have all the hook-ups, and all the controllers work, and it gives good signal. atari_wizard
very rare. i can't seem to find one for a good price.
VidGameKing
what would you consider a "good price"? +/- $500 thats what I consider a good price. I found my system at a thrift store for $5.00 and I talked them down to $2. I would never sell it, but if I did I would expect $500 or more from it.
