AlexKIDD
does a lynx need a certain battery pack (like a sega nomad) or does it use regular batteries.if it is regular better what kind and how many? sorry for all of the stupid questions but i'd like to know a little about the system before i go buy one.-thanks,joe
Agent X
Both models of the Lynx accept 6 AA batteries. Atari also produced an external battery pack, which takes 6 D batteries. It's rather large, and even heavier than the Lynx itself once you load it with batteries, but gives you very long battery life.

glitch
Best Electronics also makes a recharable pack that weighs 1/4 of the official battery pack. They claim a 2.75 - 3.25 hour battery life. Radio Shack sold one also from their web page but I haven't looked to see if they still have it in over a year.
