eMike
Does anyone know if this Cinemaware game (1989 i think) was released on the ST, and if so anywhere I can get it? Also will it work on a 512k machine. Thanks in advance, Mike.
oesii
I don't think it came out for the ST but I'm not 100% sure but here's the company's page and it lists the PC and Amiga versions. http://www.cinemaware.com/clsgame_itcame.asp
Han
I don't think it was ever released for the ST, but I do remember reading about an ST version in some computer magazine. And while we are on the subject of Cinemaware; was “King of Chicago” ever released for the ST? I remember I had it, but it had an unfinished feel over it…
Gregory DG
Here is King of Chicago. There's no entry for "It Came From The Desert."
eMike
That's a real shame I've got it here on Amiga, but I'm getting an ST soon thus the Amiga wont be set up. I was hoping to be able to play it on the ST. Nevermind Any good games to recommend or sell me? I dont mind if there copies or not, I just want more games. PM me if you have.. ANTHONY ATARI
I used to love that game! Too bad I dont have it anymore. As always, the Amiga had the best version. It was easy to find the ant hole. It was a special hole that closed up after an ant came out, though. I could never figure out how to get INTO the hole! Becasue of that, I never got to beat the game (although I thoroughly explored it)
Rekrul
I've got it here on Amiga, but I'm getting an ST soon thus the Amiga wont be set up. I was hoping to be able to play it on the ST. Why? I'm sorry, I promised myself that I'd hold my tongue, but I just have to ask why you'd choose to use an ST over an Amiga. I mean the Amiga has better graphics and sound, plus a multitasking OS, and has virtually all the same games that were released for the ST, plus quite a few more. In fact, it's the only system that It Came From the Desert II: Antheads was released on. (as far as I know) Just out of the 14 classic Cinemaware games, only 5 were released for ST (Defender of the Crown, S.D.I., Rocket Ranger, Sinbad and the Throne of the Falcon and Lords of the Rising Son), of which, the first three can be downloaded from the Cinemaware site. The only game for Amiga that isn't available from the site is Three Stooges, most likely because of copyright issues with the stooges' families. Cool! And you might have to add King of Chicago to the list of Cinemaware ST games. I had a copy of it, but I don't know if it was ever officially released... It had an unfinished feel to it…
Rekrul
Was Lord of the Rising Sun really release for the ST!? Cool! According to both Moby Games and The Legacy, it was; http://www.mobygames.com/game/sheet/p,24/gameId,7288/ http://www.thelegacy.de/Museum/4768/ And you might have to add King of Chicago to the list of Cinemaware ST games. Hmm, I did a little more looking and now I'm not sure. The Legacy lists an ST version, but Moby Games doesn't. http://www.thelegacy.de/Museum/6119/ http://www.mobygames.com/search/quick?q=ki...king+of+chicago I had a copy of it, but I don't know if it was ever officially released... It had an unfinished feel to it… The Amiga version was like that too. The first time I saw it, I thought it looked like a PD game. I seem to recall one screen with a figure or a person's face that looked like it was just pasted over a blank background. After seeing Defender of the Crown, Three Stooges and such, King of Chicago looked really primitive. Finally, according to The Legacy, there was an ST version of It Came From the Desert; http://www.thelegacy.de/Museum/4611/ Of course, I don't know how accurate this info is, since I think almost anyone can submit info and they probably don't have the resourses to check it all. Still seems to me that sticking with the Amiga would be a better choice.

I doubt it was ever released. I saw a picture of it in a magazine, but that could have been a missprint. Still seems to me that sticking with the Amiga would be a better choice. Yupp, I agree. It's really a cool game. My only complaint is that it's really slow... the disk access is painful

bluemonday
Has anyone ever found a version of It Came From the Desert for the ST? Would love to run it from my Ultrasatan.
Goochman
King of CHicago was released for the ST and IIRC the magazines panned it due to its lack of polish and clearly was a poorly done port compared to the Amiga version.
