Did they ever sell TG-16/PCE clones like Famicom clones?

I've never seen one myself but it's from the same era and you see tons of Famicom and MD clones for sale.

I'm not aware of any pirated or clone PCE/TG16 hardware.

 

But PC Engine pirated HuCard software exists. I unwillingly purchased two games by vaunted pirate card maker, King Games through www.vglq.com. Beware of them and be sure to steer clear of their Twin Cobra (Kyuogen Tiger) and CHase HQ PCE software....pirated crap!

Most likely because the PCE doesn't use common chips like the Famicom and the Megadrive.

I saw on someone's web site that they had a Famicon clone called the Phantom, that was externally identical to the Atari 7800. Very nice.

 

That article didn't say if the PC Engine clones could play standard HUcards. It would be nice if it could.

Here's a page with a picture of the clone on the left. It has two slots. One for regular HUcards, and one slot on top that looks like its for some kind of pirated cart.
