Nubian
Hey All, I recently returned go a second-hand delear and got the rest oif my Atari ST games. There are plenty of racing games and shoot-em-ups but only one plaformer which is called Nebulus. I had a play around with Nebulus and it has better graphics than my commodore 64 Nebulus so I'm happy with this purchase for 50 cents. I was just wondeing for future reference when I am considering buying more games for my 1040ST, what are the best platformers? Also, there is one more game up at this shop called PRO BOXING. Anyone played this boking game and what is it like? I'm also really pleased I joined this forum as I met another Atari ST enthusiast from Melbourne which is near where I live in Australia. He is actually going out of his way and sending me Gauntlet II. That's a very nice gesture and it really welcomes me to the world of this past classic that is Atari ST. Regards, Nubian. The Eidolon
There was a game called Mouse Trap (I think) that was a lot of fun. Verty simple--just jump around on a bunch of platforms and collect all the chese blocks to finish each level. But it was pretty addicting and a good cheap game at the time. --The Eidolon
Mendon
Try to find STario Land, an excellent version of Super Mario Bros. for the ST. Great graphic's and controls and a ton of fun! Another platformer I liked was CarV-Up (I think that was the name... too early in the morning for me). Sort of a Miner 2049er type game where you are a car and must travel over all the girders (they change as you drive over them) to complete a level while avoiding all sorts of nasties. phil______
Do you know "Enchanted Land" from Thalion or "Gret Giana sister" ? "Enchanted Land" was coded by the best ST DEMO Coder : Nick of the carebears, and feature mindbombing technics.
+DarkLord
I like several different platformers on the ST: Gods (as was mentioned) Chaos Engine Blood Money Leader Turrican Zool Okay, maybe some of those aren't exactly platformers but they are fun nonetheless... :-)
PeBo
sorry for resurrecting such an old thread, but a google search for "Best ST Platformers" brought me here, and I felt I should mention a couple titles that didn't make it to anyone's list (albeit the thread WAS brief) Rick Dangerous & Black Cauldron which were mentioned ARE VERY high on my list, but IMO Spherical is easily one of the best platform games on any system (how many platformers require you to create/alter the game screens on the fly as part of the gameplay). The other one I expected to see but was not mentioned is Time Runner (not to be confused with Time Bandit) which included jaw dropping graphics and stellar game play and a main character from the games Crumble's Crisis and Space Lobsters.. Anyway, if I've introduced two of the ST's better platformers to folks who have never heard of them (or reminded those who may have forgotten them) then it was worth reviving this cobweb covered thread. +DarkLord
You know, I'd have to throw one in that I forgot earlier and that's "Venus- The Flytrap". I love the music to that game and all the little animations.
PeBo
and of course I meant Black Lamp, not Black Cauldron (which was a mediocre Walt Disney Graphics Adventure)

Foebane
Platformers? You want platformers on the ST, you go to the Demoscene, there's a whole massive bunch of ST demos disguised as platform games out there. The premise is simple: unlike something logical like on the Amiga where a multi-part demo is loaded one part at a time and you press the mouse button to move on to the next, ST demos require you to play a (mostly shitty) platform game with a lame character who goes to each door to load each part. I mean, it's honestly tedious, whoever came up with that idea should be shot.

Ayreon
Let him be. The poor guy was banned a long time ago from Atari_forum. Some people just need some space on an Atari forum to troll about Amiga's
