+Propane13
Hey there, Has anyone managed to figure out any of the cool things that the 7800 Diagnostic Cart can test? I know it doesn't like the development BIOS very much, but what else can it do? Anyone tried any interesting tests (different things in joystick ports, etc...)? Tempest
Who owns a 7800 diagnostic cart? They seem to be as rare as hens teeth around here. I want one!!! Tempest

Mitch has an interesting page on the Diagnostic cart. It has some of his discoveries. I think you will find it very useful in answering your questions. Please be sure to let the board know if you find anything new. [ 01-23-2002: Message edited by: Tizoc ]
+Mitch
The 7800 Diagnostic cart really isn't that exciting. Basically all it's good for is adjusting the 7800 specific color pot. All of the other tests you use the 2600 Diagnostic cart for. It does have some power on error codes to help diagnose different problems but unfortunately the 7800 service manual, which would have told what the error codes meant, was never released (or even written?). +Mitch
I forgot to mention that if anyone wants to build there own 7800 diagnostic cart, I can send them the ROM for it. You should be able to gut pretty much any old 7800 cart to make it. An extra Pole Position II would be a good candidate.
