Red 5
Can someone tell me what this uses for a 'start' button with a 2600 joystick? For the games that require two buttons, will the genesis controller work? Also, does the 'start' button on the genesis controller work as the 'start' button? I have a great rebuilt 5200 joystick (thanks retrogames-r-us ! ! !) but would love to play with a genesis or 2600 controller.
Albert
Hello, Can someone tell me what this uses for a 'start' button with a 2600 joystick? The Redemption has two controller jacks. Into one you plug the 2600/Genesis/7800 controller, and into the other you plug a 5200 controller. You need to use the Start button on the 5200 controller. For the games that require two buttons, will the genesis controller work? Also, does the 'start' button on the genesis controller work as the 'start' button? No, the Start button on the Genesis controller is not supported. ..Al
Red 5
Thanks for the info. A great invention would be the same idea with a start / pause / reset button included somehow. The start button on the Atari 5200 joystick is usually what blows out first. Eliminating the 5200 joystick altogether is the key I think. elliott
You could use the track ball for start, pause, reset and keypad functions. It doesn't have the useless flex circuits of the joysticks it uses actual PCB circuit boards.
