Hard Drivin'

Anyone play this game that often? I tried the other night after about three hours of playing Checkerd Flag... and just could not get into it. (In other words, I KEPT crashing into everything).

I used to play it quite a lot when the arcade first came out. ANd I have a Lynx version but for some reason it seems a lot easier. I could go for 7 or 8 laps on speed track before the timer runs out and then one more lap with the championship car. I almost always beat that car.

I can't seem to get through one single lap, on either the speed or stunt track. The speed track is easier, but I can't stay in control very well. And for some reason, I always seem to collide with the cow.

The Lynx version of this game seems to be the most difficult to control (and I' ve played the Genesis and SNES versions of Hard Drivin and Race Drivin respectively). It's not like the arcade version was easy to control either....it was a driving simulator afterall.

 

The Genesis version, with practice, becomes somewhat natural provided you keep your speed limits within the stated maximums depending on what part of the track you're on.

I remember the ST version being very tricky to control aswell.
