Coax or RCA? Whaddya think?

Hi Everyone,

For those of you that are AV savvy what do you think would produce a better picture from my 7800 to the coax in on my tv set.

1. The tried and true method of using a composite (RCA, phono plug etc..)video cable into an RCA to Male Coax adapter then into the TV. This is

7800->RCA cable->RCA to F Male Coax Adapter->Coax In on TV

2. Atari 7800 to RCA to F Coax adapter to coaxial cable into tv. This is

7800->male RCA adapter to F Female Coax adapter->Coax Cable->Coax In on TV

I've always used #1 but tried #2 the other day. Reason being that I figured a heavy duty coax cable has much better than shielding than an RCA/composite video cable. I swear I noticed a difference...nothing like an RF vs. S-Video difference but a noticable increase in video quality.

Anyone else tried this? Is my theory behind increased quality sound?

Either of the above methods really depend on the quality of the cable you use. I used option #2 before finally going with option #3.

3. S-video mod. Especially with an S-video male to dual RCA male cable (which Fry's sells for five bucks), connected to a Commodore monitor. Done properly, this will not affect the RF output, so you can have dual screens for showing your 7800 off to a group.
